Celebrating Hispanic Heritage

Students at Englewood on the Palisades Charter School celebrated history at the school’s annual Hispanic Heritage assembly.

State Assemblyman Gordon Johnson launched the morning’s activities and addressed students’ families.

Each year, EPCS students celebrate the music, food, art and culture of historic Hispanics. Youngsters from kindergarten through fifth grade create and display works of art, tell stories about important events in history and perform songs.

“Englewood on the Palisades Charter School is proud of our diversity,” said Principal Shirl Burns said during the Oct. 28 event. “Our Hispanic Heritage celebration is one of our many events throughout the year celebrating the various cultures of our student population.

Founded in 1998, EPCS serves families in and around Englewood.
